Carjacker Steals, Crashes 3 Cars In 2 Hours In Aurora: Police
Police say a "bizarre series of events" took place before the suspect was arrested, including two "Good Samaritans" offering him a ride.

AURORA, IL — Police in Aurora say a "bizarre series of events" led to a man being charged with three carjackings Saturday. The driver, a 26-year-old man from Chicago, was taken to a local hospital to be treated for non-life-threatening injuries.
Aurora police provided a timeline of the multiple carjackings the suspect is charged in connection with.
5:25 a.m.: A 36-year-old woman has her 2004 Kia minivan stolen while at a gas station in the 300 block of Broadway.

5:33 a.m.: Aurora police discover that the man crashed and abandoned the stolen Kia near Lake Street and Indian Trail. Police say they find a handgun in the stolen Kia.
A man driving a 2005 Chevy pulled over and offered the suspect a ride. The suspect got in the Chevy, cops say.

5:37 a.m.: The suspect is involved in a rollover crash with the man's 2005 Chevy, which police say he had stolen. An 18-year-old woman pulled over to help the carjacking suspect after the crash, and he reportedly stole her gray Dodge Avenger and fled east on I-88.
Police broadcast notifications to the Kane County Sheriff's Office and deploy the Aurora Police Department's drone team.
7:29 a.m.: The stolen vehicle is spotted by law enforcement in Bellwood. Police pursue the stolen Dodge Avenger until the suspect crashes the car.
Police say the suspect was taken to a nearby hospital and no one else was injured. According to Aurora police, information on specific charges is pending.
