Cars, Homes Hit With Gunfire In Aurora Shooting

Police say no one was injured during the Jan. 12 shooting.

AURORA, IL -- Police in Aurora are investigating a shooting that damaged cars and homes on the city's near west side. The shooting took place on Jan. 12 in the 900 block of Charles Street, according to a social media post from the Aurora Police Department.

Two men, ages 19 and 22, told police that they were sitting inside of a car in a driveway around 1 a.m. when a man in black walked up to the vehicle and began shooting. According to police, two cars and two houses were struck by gunfire.

Police added that the victims' "versions of the event did not match forensic evidence at the scene."

The 22-year-old victim was taken into custody for an outstanding warrant. Police are still looking for information about the shooting. If you have any information, contact Aurora police at 630-256-5500.
