Child, 9, Seriously Injured In Truck Crash On New York Street: APD
A 2022 Chevy truck was driving west on East New York Street around 5:45 p.m. Wednesday when it crashed into a child riding a bike.
AURORA, IL – A 9-year-old child riding a bike was seriously injured after being hit by a truck Wednesday near the intersection of East New York Street and Kautz Road, police said in an update Thursday afternoon.
Officers responded to the area around 5:45 p.m. and determined in a preliminary investigation that a 2022 Chevy truck was driving west on New York Street when it collided with the bicyclist, who was riding south on Kautz Road, officials said.
The child was taken to a local hospital. The driver of the truck did not sustain any injuries.

Members of the Aurora Emergency Management Agency helped with road closures while traffic investigators reconstructed the crash using state-of-the-art drones to create a 3D map of the scene, allowing officers to see specific details and take measurements.
