Cops Honored For Saving Baby, Five Others From Fire In Aurora
One officer entered the home by running in through the burning back porch.

AURORA, IL --- Aurora Police are commending some of their crew after a daring fire rescue that saved the life of a baby and five other people, including several kids in mid-October. The officers reportedly entered the home in the 400 block of North Avenue by running through the only available entrance, a back porch that was engulfed in flames.
Police say Officer Ryan Murphy rushed into the building while Officer Arturo Montemayor used a fire extinguisher to help clear the way as much as possible. Murphy was able to help an infant who was less than a year old, along with five other people, to safely exit the home. He then went back into the home to make sure no one had been left inside.
In a press release, Aurora Police said Montemayor rationed the fire extinguisher's contents to make sure that there was enough to ensure Murphy could get out safely as the Aurora Fire Department was en route to the scene.
