Cops Seize Diamonds, Over 1,000 Grams Of Coke, Heroin In Aurora

Police say they found more than $100K in drugs and eight guns during a parole check.

AURORA, IL --- Aurora police seized eight guns, thousands of grams of drugs, 36 diamonds, and other jewelry during a parole check on a man Wednesday morning. Police say the guns and more than $100,000 worth of drugs were "in plain sight" when they went to the home of Terrell Alvarez, 23, of the 1300 block of Solfisburg Ave. just before 8 a.m.

After spotting the contraband, police issued a search warrant for Alvarez's residence and allegedly found the following items:

  • One AR-15 and seven pistols, two of which were stolen
  • 784.98 grams of cocaine
  • 234.75 grams of heroin
  • 339.13 grams of cannabis
  • 190 ecstasy pills
  • 79 Xanax pills
  • 6 boxes of THC cartridges
  • $6,000 cash
  • 36 loose diamonds
  • Various items of gold and diamond jewelry

Police say the total street value of the drugs is roughly $111,000.

Alvarez faces charges of eight counts of aggravated unlawful use of a weapon and five counts of unlawful possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver. Police also charged Alvarez with violation of parole.
