Daring Dad Jumps Onto Stolen Car With Daughter Inside In Aurora

The most touching moment comes around 10 seconds into the video when the dad and daughter reunite.

AURORA, IL -- A brave dad jumped onto the hood of his own car when a carjacker stole it with his 11-year-old daughter inside at an Aurora gas station. Aurora police recently released video of the harrowing scene, which took place Friday at a gas station in the 1200 block of N. Eola Rd.

The video shows the entire crime, from when the carjacker gets into the vehicle to when the girl's father jumps onto the hood and the girl jumps out of the car and falls onto the pavement. Police called it "miraculous" that neither the girl nor her father were injured.

Tyrelle L. Pulley, of Chicago, was charged with vehicular hijacking, unlawful possession of a stolen motor vehicle and eluding police. Law enforcement is still looking for an accomplice who was waiting in another vehicle during the carjacking.

Though Pulley was initially able to drive away in the stolen car, police later spotted the vehicle near the Eisenhower Expressway and I-88 and began pursuing it. Pulley then allegedly crashed into another car, police say, and he was arrested without incident. There were no injuries reported in that collision.
