Downtown Aurora Closed To Traffic Monday Evening: Police
The Aurora Police Department is shutting down traffic in downtown Aurora.

AURORA, IL — The Aurora Police Department is blocking off downtown streets Monday evening, and no vehicles will be allowed on the road, according to a post on the department’s Facebook page.
More than 1,200 people took to the streets in downtown Aurora on Sunday evening to protest the killings of black citizens by police. Numerous downtown businesses were looted Sunday night by a small minority of people who smashed windows and stole merchandise.
Aurora Mayor Richard Irvin has extended the city's curfew for a second night, from 8:30 p.m. to 6 a.m. Tuesday.

A spokesperson for the Aurora Police Department did not immediately respond Monday to Patch’s request for additional information about the road closures.
