Earth Day Celebration At Fox Valley Mall Will Show Off Live Reptiles

Aurora mall visitors will be able to interact with reptiles, invertebrates and amphibians, including a 20-pound alligator snapping turtle.

AURORA, IL — Reptiles and invertebrates and amphibians, oh my. To celebrate Earth Day, Fox Valley Mall will host a reptile show where visitors will be able to interact with a variety of creatures.

Although Earth Day is officially April 22, the Crosstown Exotics show will take place from 1:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. the following day at the mall, 195 Fox Valley Center Drive.

Visiting animals will include a caiman lizard, 70-pound sulcata tortoise, a smooth-sided toad, a 20-pound alligator snapping turtle, a 5-foot green iguana, a 15-foot Burmese python, an American alligator, a blue-tongued skink, an 8-foot green anaconda, an Argentine tegu, an African Giant Bullfrog, Madagascar hissing cockroaches, and hairy tarantulas, officials said.

"Visitors will learn how these amazing creatures have been able to adapt since the age of dinosaurs and why they are so important to the world we live in today," the release reads.

The event is free, and no registration is required.
