Photos Shared on Facebook of 7-11 Armed Robbery Lead to Aurora Man's Arrest: Police
Dangelo Williams and his accomplice are accused of robbing a 7-11 on South Eola Road in Aurora in February and beating a store clerk.

A 19-year-old Aurora man has been arrested in connection with an armed robbery that occurred at an Aurora convenience store last month, police said Wednesday. He is also accused of beating an employee at the 7-11 convenience store in the 2200 block of South Eola Road at around 11:35 p.m. on Feb. 12.
Dangelo Williams, of the 700 block of Liberty Street, was charged Tuesday with two counts of aggravated battery and three counts of armed robbery, according to an Aurora Police Department press release. William was arrested on Feb. 26 by members of the U.S. Marshals Great Lakes Regional Fugitive Task Force on an unrelated warrant. Williams is currently being treated at an Aurora hospital for issues unrelated to the robbery.
Police said surveillance photos shared on Facebook of Williams following the robbery lead to the charges.

Williams is accused of, along with an accomplice who has not yet been arrested, entering the 7-11 in the 2200 block of South Eola Road at about 11:35 p.m. on Feb. 12. Both men had bandannas covering their faces.
They approached the 45-year-old clerk who was working in the store. One of the men then produced a handgun before they demanded money and battered the clerk, police said. They proceeded to escort the employee to a rear office and continued to demand money while kicking and hitting him.

While fleeing the store after grabbing cash and cigarettes worth an undisclosed amount of money, one of the suspects swung at an unsuspecting 20-year-old Aurora man who had entered the business while the fracas was occurring in the office. One of the robbers hit the man in the ear but did not injure him badly enough to require medical treatment.
The employee was treated and released from an Aurora hospital for non-life threatening physical injuries.
The only photos released following the armed robbery allegedly showed Williams taking part in the crime, according to the news release. Police released those photos to media outlets. On the same day, detectives received two phone calls from people saying they had seen the Facebook post and that Williams was allegedly the suspect pictured, according to the news release.
Police are still looking for Williams’ alleged accomplice. He is described as being a black male, between 5’9” and 6-feet tall and weighing between 160 and 180 pounds. He was wearing dark clothing at the time of the robbery.
