When crews arrived at the house Wednesday, they found smoke coming from the roof and three sides of a two-story, wood-framed structure.

AURORA, IL — A fire broke out Wednesday morning at a residence in the 1000 block of North Edgelawn Drive, deeming it uninhabitable, according to Aurora firefighters.
Aurora Central crews were dispatched after 911 received a call from a homeowner reporting a fire at their single-family house on the city's west side. When crews arrived, they found smoke coming from the roof and three sides of a two-story, wood-framed structure.
A total of four engines, two trucks, two medics and three battalion chiefs were sent to the scene, according to a news release. One engine stretched a hand line through the front door, finding poor visibility, smoke down to the floor and a fire in the kitchen.
