Fire Leaves Violet Street House Uninhabitable: Aurora FD
Crews arrived to find a fire in an attached garage, and it had spread into the house and engulfed a car in the driveway, officials said.
AURORA, IL — A house in the 1700 block of Violet Street on Aurora's East Side was deemed uninhabitable after a fire Monday morning, officials said.
A total of 27 personnel responded at 10:22 a.m. to find a fully involved fire in the attached garage, with a car in the driveway also engulfed in flames. The fire extended into the residence, and a nearby home was exposed to high heat, according to a Monday news release.
Crews were initially dispatched for a box alarm for a possible attached garage fire, but the fire was later upgraded to a second alarm based on conditions reported on arrival, officials said.
