Fire That Started In Aurora Garage Displaces 2 Adults, 2 Kids: FD
Firefighters were able to bring the flames under control in about 15 minutes, but the house was deemed uninhabitable, officials said.

AURORA, IL — Two adults and two children were displaced from their house in the 1600 block of Cumberland Road after a fire started in the attached garage Tuesday, officials said.
Firefighters were dispatched to the two-story house around 8:35 p.m. after receiving a call from a resident reporting the fire while inside the house. Crews found smoke and flames showing from the garage upon arrival, according to a news release.
A total of 24 firefighters responded and were able to bring the fire under control within 15 minutes, officials said, but crews stayed on the scene for an additional hour and a half to overhaul and extinguish hot spots.

The garage was heavily damaged from the fire, and the house's interior sustained heat and smoke damage, deeming it uninhabitable. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
A 26-year-old firefighter sustained a minor injury and was taken to the hospital in good condition, according to the Aurora Fire Department. No civilians were injured.

Victim Services was contacted to assist the residents, who are staying with family, officials said.
