AURORA, IL — The City of Aurora is giving away free mulch as a way to celebrate Earth Day, officials announced Friday.
A heap of mulch is located at the northwest corner of Illinois Avenue and Route 25 in downtown Aurora, waiting to be picked up by residents.
As long as supplies last, locals can stop by at any time of the day — the site is open 24/7 — to pick up mulch for their landscaping or backyard projects. City officials said all visitors need to do is bring gloves, shovels and collection containers to haul away the material.
