Garage Fire, Its Contents 'A Total Loss' After Lebanon Street Fire: FD

AURORA, IL — A detached garage and its contents were "a total loss" after a fire broke out on the evening of May 31, officials said.

Twelve firefighters were dispatched to the 600 block of Lebanon Street after dispatch at Aurora Fire Department's Central Station received multiple calls about the fire. Once there, crews found heavy flames showing from the doors of a one-story, two-car detached garage, according to a news release.

While Engine Company crews deployed hose lines and "quickly knocked the fire down," Truck Company firefighters forced entry into the garage to help extinguish the remaining flames.

Officials said residents were not home when the fire occurred. No firefighters or civilians were injured.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
