Homicide Investigation Opened Into Fatal Shooting That Kills Man, 19: Aurora PD

Aurora police are investigating the 19-year-old's death as a homicide, officials said.

AURORA, IL — A 19-year-old man was shot and killed while driving Sunday evening in the 1300 block of North Glen Circle, officials said.

Detectives from the Aurora Police Department's Bureau of Investigations are investigating his death as a homicide, police said in a news release Monday morning.

Officers were dispatched to the residential area on the city's west side after receiving several 911 calls around 7:24 p.m. about a crash and shooting. Police arrived and found a 19-year-old suffering from gunshot wounds inside of a crashed car, officials said.

Paramedics from the Aurora Fire Department brought the man to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead not long after, according to police, who said no other injuries were reported in the incident.

Police are withholding the man's identification pending notification of next of kin.
