Homeless Teen Dies as His Car Crashes into Vacant House
The teen's vehicle collided with a tree Monday shortly after midnight in Aurora.

AURORA, IL - An 18-year-old homeless man killed was killed Monday morning in a single-vehicle crash.
The crash occurred when a 2002 Dodge Ram pickup truck driven by Bryan J. Westcott Jr. left the roadway while southbound in the 300 block of Woodlawn Avenue at around 12:10 a.m. and struck a tree, according to an Aurora Police Department press release.
The force of the collision caused the vehicle to flip and Westcott was ejected. The vehicle went on to strike an unoccupied home before landing on top of Westcott, according to the news release.

Westcott, who was homeless, was pronounced dead at the scene at 12:39 a.m. He was the sole occupant of the vehicle.
The home that was struck was severely damaged. The speed limit on that stretch of Woodlawn Avenue is 25 mph. The investigation is continuing and an autopsy is pending at the Kane County Coroner’s office in Geneva.

There were no signs of drugs or alcohol at the scene and there were no other injuries.
