AURORA, IL — The large police presence at Fox Valley Mall Monday evening was caused by police searching for and eventually apprehending two suspects, officials said.

One suspect was apprehended after a short foot chase. The second was located and taken into custody after an "extensive ground search" by the Aurora mall, according to Aurora police.

The search began around 5:30 p.m. Monday, according to reports from the Chicago Tribune.
