LaSalle Street House Fire Displaces 6 Adults, 1 Child: Aurora FD
When crews arrived Wednesday morning, they found heavy fire showing from the second floor of the house, which was converted into apartments.

AURORA, IL — Six adults and one child were displaced after a 2.5-story house converted into two apartments caught fire Wednesday morning, officials said.
Crews responded at 10:34 a.m. to the structure fire in the 200 block of South LaSalle Street. On the way there, Medic 7 saw smoke in the sky and upgraded the alarm, bringing a total of 31 firefighters to the scene.
Heavy fire showed from the house's second story upon crews' arrival, according to the Aurora Fire Department. One resident was standing outside and told first responders they thought the second-floor resident was home but was unsure, officials said.

Firefighters confirmed the resident was not home, and no victims were found inside the house.
Engine Company firefighters deployed hose lines to extinguish the fire while Truck Company crews searched for residents and cut a hole in the roof to ventilate the property, according to a news release.

The fire was brought under control in about 20 minutes. No firefighters or civilians were injured in the incident, officials said.
The house was deemed uninhabitable, and Victim Services was called to help the seven residents.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
