AURORA, IL — An 18-year-old man faces felony charges after he was accused of sexually assaulting a 13-year-old girl while they were on a field trip to the Aurora Public Library. Cody Pomrenke, of Pekin, was charged with aggravated criminal sexual abuse in connection with the May incident, the Chicago Tribune reports.

Pomrenke and the girl were both residents at Northern Illinois Academy, a residential psychiatric treatment facility on the city's northeast side, when the incident took place. The girl's father reportedly filed a lawsuit claiming that Pomrenke sexually assaulted his daughter in a men's bathroom at the public library during the trip.

The girl's father goes on to allege that Northern Illinois Academy was negligent in not ensuring that Pomrenke was kept separate from the female resident.
