Man Dies After Getting Shot, Crashing Car In Aurora Township

Police say the man, 19, crashed his car into a fence near Dearborn Avenue and Beckwith Street in unincorporated Aurora Township.

AURORA TOWNSHIP, IL — The Kane County Sheriff's Office is conducting a death investigation after a 19-year-old man who was shot crashed his car and was found dead Sunday.

According to a press release from the Kane County Sheriff's Office, the man crashed his car into a fence near the intersection of Beckwith Street and Dearborn Avenue in unincorporated Aurora Township. Aurora Township EMS pronounced the man dead at the scene.

A 20-year-old passenger in the car was taken to a nearby hospital with minor injuries, according to police.

Police say no suspects are in custody and no motive has been established. The incident is being investigated by Kane County Sheriff's Office detectives and members of the Kane County Major Crimes Task Force.
