Aurora Hit-And-Run Victim Identified
Police say the victim was found in the 500 block of South River Street and that the suspect had fled.
AURORA, IL — Police in Aurora are investigating a fatal hit-and-run crash after a man was hit by a car in the 500 block of South River Street Monday evening. Police were called to the scene just before 7 p.m. and the man, identified as 57-year-old Brent Jean of Aurora, was pronounced dead by paramedics.
According to police, the vehicle that hit Jean fled before they arrived.
South River Street was closed between Prairie Street and Second Street as crews worked to reconstruct the crash. The police department's traffic unit also used drone technology to make a 3-D digital map of the crash scene.

Police say the investigation into this hit-and-run crash is ongoing. Anyone with information is urged to call the Aurora Police Department's traffic division at 630-256-5330 or Aurora Area Crime Stoppers at 630-892-1000.
Anonymous tips left with Aurora Area Crime Stoppers are eligible for a reward of up to $5,000 for information that leads to an arrest.
