Man In Serious Condition After Being Extricated From Car Crash: AFD
Two cars crashed at East New York Street and Commons Drive, sending one into a utility pole and trapping the driver inside, officials said.

AURORA, IL — A man was hospitalized in serious condition after he was extricated from a car after crashing into a utility pole May 31, according to the Aurora Fire Department.
Aurora Fire Department's Central Station received multiple calls about a person trapped after a crash around 3:27 p.m. at the intersection of Eola Road and Commons Drive.
Once at the scene, crews discovered a two-car crash. The female driver of one was walking around, while the male driver of the second was stuck in his car.

It took Truck Company firefighters 17 minutes to extricate the man, who was in serious condition, officials said. The other was also evaluated by paramedics but refused treatment and hospital transport.
Officials told Patch Monday they don't have an update on the man's condition.

The scene was turned over to the Aurora Police Department, and the area was shut down for more than three hours while officials investigated.
