Man Who Hit Aurora Pedestrian While Drunk Gets Prison Time
Richard A. Frost, 48, of Montgomery, had a BAC of more than twice the legal limit when he hit a person in downtown Aurora.

AURORA, IL — A Montgomery man who got his fourth DUI after driving drunk and hitting a pedestrian in downtown Aurora in 2016 has been sentenced to five years in prison. Richard A. Frost, 48, of the 300 block of N. Main St., had a BAC of more than twice the legal limit when he struck the pedestrian as they were getting into their car, according to police.
During the arrest, Frost allegedly lied about his name and had a half-pint of whiskey on his person that he told police he had been drinking while driving around and running errands.
The incident took place around 4:30 p.m. on December 3, 2016, near the intersection of S. Stolp Ave. and Galena Blvd. Police say the victim who Frost hit got into their car, called 911, and followed Frost until Frost eventually stopped his car.

When police got to the scene, they interviewed Frost, who said he "that he wasn't drunk yet and that he didn't know he'd struck the pedestrian." By the time police got Frost to the Aurora police station, his BAC was reportedly .185.
Police say Frost's license was revoked at the time of the arrest due to three prior DUI convictions in Will and Cook County 1991, 1995, and 2002.
