Man Who Shot, Killed 1 On Spencer St. Charged With Murder: KCSA
Prosecutors said in January 2021, Daniel Aguirre fired multiple shots, killing a 32-year-old Aurora man. His bail was set at $1 million.

AURORA, IL — The Kane County State's Attorney's Office has filed first-degree murder charges against a 23-year-old Aurora resident who prosecutors say shot and killed a man on South Spencer Street on Jan. 15, 2021.
On the afternoon of the killing, Daniel Aguirre, of the 800 block of South Loucks Street, was a passenger in a car driving to the 300 block of South Spencer Street, according to prosecutors. There, officials said he got out of his car and fired multiple shots, killing 32-year-old Fernando Carapia, of Aurora.
With his bail set at $1 million, 10 percent to apply for bond, Aguirre is in custody at the Kane County jail. His next court appearance is set for 9 a.m. Jan. 14 at the Kane County Judicial Center.

Officials announced the charges almost a year after the fatal shooting, and the Aurora Police Department's investigation into the incident remains ongoing. Anyone with information is asked to call the police at 630-256-5500.
