Man's Arm Run Over By Commuter Bus In Farnsworth Avenue Crash: PD
The man was riding a scooter on the sidewalk when it veered, causing him to fall into the road, where a bus ran over his arm, police said.
AURORA, IL — A 57-year-old man's arm was run over by a commuter bus when he was hit while riding a scooter Thursday on Farnsworth Avenue, according to Aurora police.
During the preliminary investigation, police learned the man was riding a motorized scooter on the sidewalk west of Farnsworth Avenue, near Molitor Road. The scooter veered off the sidewalk, causing him to fall off it and into the road, officials said.
Police responded to the scene at 3:42 p.m., and paramedics from the Aurora Fire Department brought the man to a local hospital, where he was listed in stable condition.

At the time, there were no passengers on the bus.
The road was closed for about two hours while police investigated. Police said investigators reconstructed the scene using state-of-the-art drone technology to create a digital 3D map that allows detectives to see specific details and measurements.

The crash remains under investigation by APD's Traffic Division. No citations have been issued.
