Firefighters responded to the single-story facility Feb. 4 and found it showing heavy smoke and fire, officials said.
AURORA, IL — A manufacturing facility on Grace Avenue was deemed uninhabitable after a fire broke out Feb. 4. Neither firefighters nor civilians were injured, officials said.
The Aurora Fire Department responded to the structure fire in the 1000 block of Grace Avenue at 4:21 p.m. where a single-story facility was showing heavy smoke and fire. Crews received multiple calls about a fire, prompting them to upgrade the alarm to a Level 2 and bring 22 firefighters to the scene.
To extinguish the fire, Engine Company crews entered the building through man doors and Truck Company crews provided horizontal ventilation after forcibly entering through a large bay door. They also turned off utilities and searched for any victims, finding none, officials said.
