Neighbor Calls Cops On Teens Breaking Into Car In Aurora
Police say they found a backpack that contained stolen items nearby.
AURORA, IL -- Two teens were caught breaking into a car in the 1200 block of Colorado Avenue Tuesday morning, according to Aurora police. Police say they found the boys, a 17-year-old from Joliet and a 13-year-old who had been reported as a runaway, after a neighbor reported seeing them trying to gain entry to a vehicle.
The teens initially tried to flee when police arrived, but were eventually apprehended. Police say they found a backpack filled with stolen items nearby.
The 17-year-old was charged with burglary to a motor vehicle and resisting a police officer. The 13-year-old was not charged the reported break-in, but police say he was taken in to Kane County Youth Home on a warrant that was not related to Tuesday's incident.
