New Lounge Unveiled To Kick Off Women's History Month In Aurora

AURORA, IL — Starting March 1, women who worked for Aurora City Hall will have a space dedicated just to them, officials unveiled.
The new women's lounge comes just in time to celebrate the start of Women's History Month this March.
Aurora's Presenting Opportunities Where Everyone Rises (POWER) women's resource group transformed an underused restroom into the redesigned and redeveloped lounge meant to be an empowering space for women.

The lounge includes resting chairs, hand-drawn murals, motivational books and a private lactation room, among other things.
The POWER group, comprised of more than 50 staffers, will be joined by Mayor Richard Irvin and other city officials Wednesday to kick off Women's History Month and celebrate the lounge with a ribbon-cutting ceremony.

The event is set to start at noon at the city's Development Services Center, 77 S. Broadway.
