No Evidence Of Shots Fired Found After Active Shooter Threat: Police

Police received several reports Thursday night of shots fired and an active shooter at a business in the 2900 block of Kirk Road.

AURORA, IL — Aurora police found no evidence of a shooting after responding Thursday night to a report of an active shooter in the 2900 block of Kirk Road, officials said.

Multiple officers were dispatched after 911 received several reports around 9:40 p.m. of shots fired and an active shooter at a local business. At the scene, police evacuated patrons and employees before conducting a search of the building, finding no victims or evidence of a shooting, according to a news release.

Investigators determined someone brandished a firearm outside the business before fleeing the area in a car, officials said.

Despite finding no evidence, police continue to investigate the incident. Officials are asking anyone with information to call the department's investigations division at 630-256-5500.
