No Injuries in Aurora House Fire
Neighbors helped keep firefighters cool by providing them with ice and drinks as they fought the blaze.

AURORA, IL — No injuries were reported in an Aurora house fire Wednesday afternoon.
According to the Aurora Fire Department, crews responded at 2:53 p.m. to a fire in the 600 block of South Fourth St. after a passerby noticed a fire on the exterior of the home and called 911.

Upon arrival, firefighters found a 2 ½ story wood frame structure that was divided into three separate living areas. The fire was located near an exterior electrical box and found the fire had spread to the attic area of the structure.
Nearby neighbors Anna and Suzanne Kiemacek and Danitza Vargas and Amaurani Delacruz helped firefighters by bringing bags of ice, Gatorade and water to them as the hot weather conditions took a physical toll on those working the scene.

Aurora Fire Investigators said the cause is most likely due to an electrical issue. It is estimated that total dollar loss to structure was $100,000 and $35,000 for contents.
There was no one in the structure at the time of the fire and there were no injuries to civilians or firefighters.
