No Injuries, Home Deemed Uninhabitable In Aurora Structure Fire: FD

Three adults and two children were displaced as a result of the fire found showing from the basement, officials said.

AURORA, IL — A one-story, single-family house in the 1000 block of Grand Boulevard was deemed uninhabitable after a fire Feb. 23, officials said.

Aurora firefighters responded to the structure fire at 7:27 p.m. when they found the house showing heavy smoke from the basement. The intensity prompted crews to upgrade the alarm to a Level 2, bringing a total of 30 firefighters to the scene.

While Engine Company crews deployed hose lines, the Truck Company searched for victims, finding none, officials said. No residents or firefighters were injured in the incident.

Three adults and two children were displaced due to the fire, according to the Aurora Fire Department. Victim Services' help was not needed as the residents had a place to stay.
