Paramount Theatre Reports Websites Selling Overpriced Tickets To Show

AURORA, IL - Websites are selling tickets to the Paramount Theatre’s The Little Mermaid for more than four times the actually face value of the tickets and theater officials are warning people of the scam.

The websites are offering the tickets for as high as $300 per seat. Paramount Theatre officials say their tickets do not sell for more than $68.56 per ticket, according to a statement from the Aurora theater posted on the theater's Facebook page.

“These sites do not even have tickets to our production in their possession. They charge the patron that price first and then buy tickets from our Box Office at face value later,” according to the statement from Paramount Theatre.

Theater officials have no way of figuring when a ticket is being purchased by the scammers.

Theater officials are advising those looking to buy tickets to purchase them on the Paramount Theatre website or by calling 630-896-6666.

And if you are charged more than $68.56, you are probably being duped, according to the Paramount Theatre statement.

“We want everyone to enjoy The Little Mermaid, and we don’t want anyone overpaying for tickets,” theater officials said in the statement.
