Police explain the common tactics these callers use and stress that caller ID can be faked. Community members are urged to hang up and independently call APD's non-emergency line to verify any suspicious contact.
   

• Grill Catches Fire, Spreads To Exterior Of Aurora House: FD (patch.com) — Aurora firefighters quickly contained a grill fire that spread from a deck to the exterior and roof area of a Thurston Court home, keeping the house habitable and preventing injuries. Crews upgraded the response to a second alarm, deploying extensive resources to stop the flames from entering the interior. Officials are using the incident to remind residents about safe grill placement and never leaving grills unattended.
