Pedestrian, 69, Killed In Hit-And-Run On Aurora's Far West Side: PD
The crash happened just before 2 a.m. Wednesday on Galena Boulevard west of Barnes Road.

AURORA, IL — A 69-year-old woman was killed in a hit-and-run while walking on Galena Boulevard early Wednesday morning, police said.
Officials identified the woman as Annie KPA, of the 2000 block of Lilac Lane in Aurora.
Aurora Police Department officers and Aurora Fire Department paramedics were dispatched just before 2 a.m. to Galena Boulevard west of Barnes Road after receiving a call about a woman lying in the roadway. First responders found her suffering from serious injuries before she was pronounced dead on the scene, officials said in a news release Wednesday afternoon.

The Kane County Coroner's Office will conduct an autopsy to determine the exact cause and manner of death.
The intersection of Galena Boulevards and Barnes Road was closed for several hours while investigators reconstructed the crash. Aurora's Emergency Management Agency helped with scene lighting and traffic control.

APD's traffic division continues to investigate the crash. Detectives are asking anyone with information to contact investigators at 630-256-5330 or email tips@aurora.il.us.
