Pedestrian Struck By Car At New York Street, North Broadway: Aurora PD
A driver was cited for disobeying a traffic control device and failing to yield to a pedestrian in a crosswalk, police said.
AURORA, IL — A woman was struck by a car Monday afternoon while trying to cross the street at the intersection of East New York Street and North Broadway, police said.
The 25-year-old woman was in the crosswalk traversing North Broadway around 3:19 p.m. Monday when a Honda CRV driver blew a red light and crashed into her, Investigator David Guevara told Patch.
Aurora Fire Department paramedics took the pedestrian to an area hospital for non-life-threatening injuries, Guevara said.

The driver of the CRV was issued two citations, disobeying a traffic control device and failure to yield to a pedestrian in a crosswalk.
North Broadway was shut down between New York Street and Galena Boulevard until about 4:20 p.m., according to the Aurora Police Department's Facebook page.
