Woman Pulls Gun At Mall, Creates 'Fear And Panic': Aurora Police
Police said the Chicago woman called 911 saying she was the victim of a crime and pulled a gun on the person involved.
AURORA, IL — Some mall patrons ran and hid Saturday after reports of a woman with a gun at Chicago Premium Outlets in Aurora, police said. The incident led to a woman's arrest after police said her "actions created fear and panic amongst mall patrons."
Police said they received "dozens" of 911 calls reporting a woman with a gun around 3:20 p.m. At around the same time, the woman, later identified as 26-year-old Shamiracle Lee of Chicago, also called 911, saying she had been the victim of a crime and had pulled a gun on the person involved, according to a statement from police.
"The woman’s actions created fear and panic amongst mall patrons, leading many to hide in nearby stores or run from the area," Aurora police said on Sunday. "Word of the incident spread quickly throughout the mall."

Officers rushed to the scene and made contact with the woman, officials said, and the gun was located. Police said officers confirmed there were no shots fired in the incident.
Other officers went store to store, informing patrons and mall employees that the incident was resolved.

Lee was charged with felony aggravated unlawful use of a weapon, violation of the Concealed Carry Act and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
Police said she appeared in Kane County court on Sunday and has since been released.
