Photos Of Fatal Aurora Hit & Run Shared In Plea To Find Driver

Police have released more security camera images in the hopes of finding the driver who fatally hit Danny Anderson, 46, in Aurora.

AURORA, IL — Police have released more surveillance images of a fatal hit-and-run crash that killed a man in Aurora Wednesday. Danny Anderson, 46, was crossing the street when he was fatally struck by a gray mini van near the intersection of Broadway and Hazel.

Aurora Police are "imploring the driver of the vehicle, or anyone who knows his or her identity, to do the right thing and come forward," they said in a Facebook post Monday.

Police say a 32-year-old man was with Anderson as they were crossing Broadway westbound on Wednesday around 6:30 p.m. The man told police he saw the gray minivan heading south on Broadway and shouted for Anderson to stop.

The man told police Anderson ran westbound and was hit by the gray minivan, which stopped momentarily before fleeing south on Broadway.

Aurora Police are asking any witnesses or anyone with information to call the police department's traffic division at 630-256-5330.

Anyone with information can also make an anonymous call to Aurora Crime Stoppers at 630-892-1000. Those who call Aurora Crime Stoppers are eligible for a cash reward for any information that leads to an arrest.
