Pizza Delivery Driver Robbed At Gunpoint In Aurora: Cops

AURORA, IL --- A pizza delivery driver was robbed at gunpoint in Aurora Sunday. The victim, a 28-year-old man from Yorkville, was robbed around 10:30 in the 900 block of North Ave. after he made a delivery.

According to police, a man got out of a white sedan and showed a handgun while demanding that the delivery driver give up his cash. The victim complied and the suspect walked back to his car, police say.

The driver then contacted the supervisor of the pizza place he works for, which is located in Montgomery, before calling 911. As a result, the victim spoke to the Montgomery Police Department at the restaurant regarding the incident.

As a result, Aurora Police caution that "It is not all that unusual for these types of robberies to be reported in this manner. While we understand the shock and trauma experienced by victims, it is imperative that delivery drivers of any type (and their bosses and ALL crime victims) realize the importance of calling 911."

The delivery driver was not injured in the robbery.
