Police Ask For Help Identifying North Aurora Liquor Store Robbery Suspect

The man escaped with an undisclosed amount of cash, but police have a surveillance photo of him.

NORTH AURORA, IL -- North Aurora police are asking for help in identifying a liquor store robbery suspect. He allegedly entered the store, spoke with the cashier and left before returning with a pistol drawn.

He was wearing a Chicago Blackhawks baseball hat, a gray Nike hoodie, dark jeans, a white cap and sunglasses, and has a tattoo or writing on his left hand and wrist. When he spoke to the cashier, he asked for Hennessy, and then left, only to return again to the store, which is on the first block of South Lincolnway.

Police described the gun as a black semi-automatic pistol with plastic over the barrel, the Beacon-News reported. He escaped with an undisclosed amount of cash.

The man is thought to have been running east when he was last seen, towards the Fox River. Police arrived around 5:32 p.m, and conducted a grid search to no avail.

The clerk was not injured in the robbery.

North Aurora police are asking anyone with information on the suspect or incident to call the department's Investigations Division at 630-897-8705, ext. 610, or to call Aurora Area Crime Stoppers at 630-892-1000 and receive an award for information leading to an arrest of the suspect.
