Possible Serial Car Burglar Caught In North Aurora: Police
Police say Misael Bautista, 19, is linked to one car burglary and may be tied to "several" others.
NORTH AURORA, IL — A North Aurora man faces felony charges after police say he was linked to one car burglary and may be tied to "several" others. Misael Bautista, 19, of the 500 block of Cherrywood Drive, was taken into custody Wednesday morning after a resident told police they saw him getting into cars in the 500 block of East Victoria Circle.
When Bautista was taken into custody, North Aurora police reportedly recovered iPods, wallets, sunglasses, and "numerous pairs of shoes."
Police say that Bautista may be connected to multiple car burglaries in and around North Aurora in the past six months. The North Aurora Police Department is currently investigating three car burglaries and four reports of criminal damage to vehicles. In each instance, they say the car was left unlocked.
