'Reimagined New Take' Of Classic 'A Christmas Carol' Coming To Paramount Theatre
Downtown Aurora's theater will bring to life Charles Dicken's classic tale, "A Christmas Carol," but with a new take.
AURORA, IL — This holiday season, Paramount Theatre will present the classic tale of "A Christmas Carol," but with a new take.
The theater is promising a "refreshing new take" on the spectacle based on Charles Dickens' novella first published in 1843. The show will open Nov. 11 and run into the new year.
Audiences will meet — or reunite with — Ebenezer Scrooge, a bitter, lonely man as he is visited by three ghosts, one from the past, one from the present and one from the future. Along the way, he will learn to experience the joy of the holiday season and the power of generosity.

Trent Stork, the director of Paramount's "Come From Away" and "Kinky Boots," adapted the new take "specifically for the Paramount stage, replete with laughter, redemption, the most memorable characters in literature, elegant dance numbers, and live music throughout," the theater said in a news release.
"Having the opportunity to create this version of A Christmas Carol from scratch allowed me to craft an experience that is designed for our Paramount audience," Stork said in a statement. "It's packed with all their favorite things while still delivering its timeless message. I feel like I've been crafting a Christmas present for them over the past year, and I'm so excited to finally get to put it all together and put it under the Christmas tree for them."
