Shooting Leaves Teen Critically Injured Near Downtown Aurora: PD

An 18-year-old man was found suffering from gunshot wounds inside a parked car in an alley just off downtown Aurora.

AURORA, IL — An 18-year-old man is suffering from critical injuries after he was found early Sunday morning shot inside a parked car, police said Wednesday.

Police were dispatched at 2:19 a.m. to an alley in the 700 block of East New York Street, near downtown Aurora, after a nearby resident called to report someone screaming for help, according to a news release. There, officers located a man suffering from a gunshot wound.

The man was taken to a local hospital for treatment, police said. No other injuries were reported in the incident.

An investigation into the shooting remains ongoing. Aurora police are asking anyone with information to call the department at 630-256-5500.
