Skeletal Remains Found On Fox River IDed As Missing Aurora Man

The remains, found on an island on the Fox River Saturday, are those of a man who has been missing since late 2015.

AURORA, IL — Human skeletal remains found on an island in the Fox River Saturday have been identified as those of an Aurora man who had been missing since 2015. The Kendall County Sheriff's Office announced Tuesday that the county coroner's office had positively identified the remains as Trey Nathan Key Soesbe, 30.

Soesbe's remains were discovered Saturday morning on an island on the river near the Route 30 overpass in Montgomery. They were found by a crew of canoeists who were doing cleanup along the waterway.

Soesbe was first reported missing on Dec. 29, 2015 after a family member gave him a ride to Hesed House, a homeless shelter in Aurora. Police said Soesbe, who struggled with mental illness, never registered at the shelter and did not stay there that night.
