Social Security Worker Allegedly Used Dead People's Info In Fraud
Police say she pretended to be married to the dead workers to collect their social security benefits.

AURORA, IL — A former claims specialist for the Social Security Administration has been charged with fraud and identity theft after she allegedly misappropriated more than $680,000 in federal payments. Federal prosecutors say Anne Aroste, used information from deceased Social Security employees to fund a network of personal bank accounts.
According to police, Aroste pretended to be married to the deceased workers to receive survivor benefits. She then allegedly used her position to approve the applications and get the cash
Police say the incidents began in 2013 while Acoste worked as a claims specialist in the administration's Aurora branch. They allegedly continued until May, police say.

Aroste is scheduled to appear in court next on June 13.
