Stray Piglet An 'Early Valentine' For Aurora Cops

Police said Penelope is"super sweet and loves to snuggle."

AURORA, IL -- Aurora Police aren't unfamiliar with dealing with stray animals, but it's not every day that a piglet makes its way into the police station. Penelope was found strolling around near Mastodon Lake Wednesday afternoon, said Officer Chris Weaver, who was instantly smitten with the black and pink pig, calling her his "early Valentine" in a Facebook video.

Weaver, who christened the stray pig "Penelope," said the piglet was found by animal control and is "super sweet and loves to snuggle."

Weaver advised residents to call Animal Control when they find a stray and to visit Animal Control's shelter if they're looking to adopt, especially on Valentine's Day.

Police are hoping the pig can be reunited with its owner soon. At press time, Weaver was still doting over Penelope and planning to "go spend some time with this sweet little baby right here."
