Best Places To Trick-Or-Treat: Aurora Ranks In Top 10

Factors like safety and weather make some places, like Aurora, more trick-or-treater friendly than others.

AURORA, IL — A new study ranks Aurora as the fourth best city in the country for trick-or-treating in 2019.

The study, which was conducted by SmartAsset, compared more than 256 cities throughout the United States andf took into account a variety of metrics, including average home value, crime rate, weather and percentage of residents younger than 15.

According to the study, Aurora has the second-lowest rate of property crime — around 1,322 incidents per 100,000 residents. It also finishes in the top 50 for lowest amount of violent crime — around 258 incidents per 100,000 residents. The average high temperature on Halloween in Aurora is approximately 56 degrees.

Orem, Utah took the number one sport as the best city in the country for trick-or-treating. For the second year in a row, the city has found itself in the study's top ten list.

Two other Illinois cities rounded out the top 25. Those cities are Elgin, which came in eighth, and Joliet, which came in eleventh.
