Teen Fatally Shot On Aurora's Near Southeast Side: Police

Police say the victim, Nicholas T. Rodriguez, was shot multiple times in the 300 block of Spencer Street.

AURORA, IL -- A 17-year-old boy is dead after he was shot multiple times on Aurora's Near Southeast side Monday night, police say. The victim, Nicholas T. Rodriguez, of the 700 block of George Avenue, was found suffering from "multiple gunshot wounds" in the 300 block of Spencer Street after police received a call reporting gunshots, according to Aurora police.

Police say Rodriguez was likely approached on foot by the gunman who then opened fire just before 9 p.m. At this time, police have no motive or suspect for the fatal shooting, but say they do not believe it was a random act.

Rodriguez was rushed to a nearby hospital, where he was pronounced dead at approximately 9:30 p.m.
