Teen Injured In Shooting In Aurora: Police

Police say the victim arrived at the hospital in a car "with heavy damage and fresh bullet holes."

AURORA, IL --- A 19-year-old Aurora man was injured in a shooting that took place Monday night, according to police. The Aurora Police Department is currently looking for information on the shooting, which was reported near Downer Place and LaSalle Street.

Staff at a local hospital told police that the victim arrived in a car with "heavy damage and fresh bullet holes" that was driven by a 24-year-old male. The driver told police that he and the victim were in the car when someone on foot shot at the vehicle and hit the teen several times.

Police say the driver and victim were both "largely uncooperative" and that "neither could supply a description of the gunman." The driver of the car was charged after police allegedly found 75 mg of cannabis inside his vehicle.

According to police, the victim sustained injuries that were not life-threatening. They added that the shooting does not seem to be a random incident.
