Aurora Ukulele Fest To Feature 'Some Of The Region's Best Players'
Sunday's festival will feature workshops, food trucks, a vendor fair, open mic and mainstage entertainment by ukulele players.
AURORA, IL — In downtown Aurora Sunday, a tiny-but-mighty string instrument will be the star of a festival. The fifth-annual Uke Fest will pack the streets with musical fun from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.
The City of Lights Ukulele Festival Society, which hosts the event at Water Street Mall, aims to "bring home the joy of ukulele music in the western suburbs of Chicago." Some of the region's best ukulele players — a total of 12 artists and bands — are set to perform across two stages Sunday.
Artists include Lil' Rev, Ukulele Kings, Aaron Baer, Hix Bros Ukulele Band, Hoapili with Hula'O Puanani, Karen Barr and Light City Revival, Kevin Presbrey, Olivia Ports, Uncle Jon's Music, Wild Blue Orchestra, and Todd Lorenc.
