VNA Launches Coronavirus Testing In Aurora

The facility is conducting free tests four days a week for people who are showing symptoms of the coronavirus.

AURORA, IL — VNA Health Care is now offering coronavirus testing at its Aurora location. The facility, located at 400 N. Highland Ave., is conducting free tests four days a week for people who are showing symptoms of the coronavirus, according to a news release from Aurora Mayor Richard Irvin. Tests are available by appointment from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Thursday.

The Illinois Department of Public Health will test potential coronavirus samples at no charge and regardless of income, immigration or insurance status, the release states. A health care provider at VNA will conduct a pre-test assessment. Those who do not have insurance will pay no more than $10 for the assessment, and no one will be turned away if they are unable to pay, according to VNA.

People who are showing symptoms can call (630) 892-4355 to schedule an appointment. Translation services are available for those who speak Spanish, the release states.

VNA launched its coronavirus testing Monday in Aurora. The health care provider is also conducting coronavirus tests at its facilities in Romeoville, Elgin and Carol Stream.

“VNA was founded over 100 years ago during the Spanish Flu pandemic, and our commitment to delivering exceptional healthcare services for the communities we serve across the Chicago metro region remains steadfast and has endured throughout this century of service,” VNA President and CEO Linnea Windel said in the release.

As of Tuesday, 330 people in Aurora have tested positive for the coronavirus and seven people have died of related conditions, according to city officials.
